Sandford on Green LUAS Line

The new Luas Green Line extension was officially opened by the Taoiseach Brian Cowen on 16th October 2010.

New stops are in place at Central Park, Glencairn, The Gallops, Leopardstown Valley, Ballyogan Wood, Carrickmines, Laughanstown, Cherrywood and Brides Glen.

Minister of State for Sustainable Transport Ciarán Cuffe said the development will bring 26,000 more commuters within 15 minutes walk of a Luas line.

The 7.5 km extension will serve 11 new stops at a peak time frequency of 7-10 minutes. Average journey time from Cherrywood will be 40 minutes.
